Listing terms

Version 2026-10-04

These terms apply when a venue ("you") buys a full listing or a boost on Venues of Note, which is run byOne Further Limited, registered in England and Wales (no. 09038406). Registered office: 112 London Road, Knebworth, Hertfordshire, SG3 6HB ("we"). Free listings need no agreement. If you claim a free listing or ask us to list your venue, sections 3, 5, 6 and 7 apply to the details you send us.

1. What you get

A full listing adds the description, capacities and photos you send us to your venue's page, and places you above free listings on the town, region, type and occasion pages you appear on. A boost places your listing first on its town, region, type and occasion pages, with a "Featured" label, for 30 days. We may also feature full listings in our newsletter and on social media, but don't promise to.

We don't take bookings, guarantee enquiries or promise any particular position beyond what's described above. Paid listings and boosts are labelled as such.

2. Payment, renewal and cancelling

A full listing is a yearly subscription, paid in advance by card through Stripe. It renews automatically each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the billing portal or by emailing us; your listing stays a full listing until the end of the year you've paid for, then goes back to a free listing. We don't refund part-years, except as required by law or under section 5.

A boost is a one-off payment and doesn't renew.

Prices are plus VAT at the standard rate. If you tell us you're paying as a charity, we zero-rate the full listing and boosts as advertising supplied to a charity, relying on the charity number and declaration you give us. The charity itself must be the customer: a charity's trading company or other company pays VAT. If your declaration turns out to be wrong, or you stop being a charity, we'll charge the VAT that should have been paid and you agree to pay it. Tell us straight away if you stop being a charity.

We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change, which applies from your next renewal.

3. Your content

You confirm that:

You give us permission to show your content on Venues of Note, in our newsletters and on our social media, with the credits you've given, for as long as you have a full listing and for up to 12 months afterwards in posts already published. This permission doesn't give us ownership of anything, and we won't sell or license your content to anyone else.

We may edit your text for length, clarity and house style, choose which photos to use, and decline content that we think is unsuitable.

4. Claims about your photos

If someone tells us a photo you sent infringes their rights, we'll remove it while we look into it (normally within2 working days) and let you know. If a claim arises because the confirmations in section 3 weren't true, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including any settlement or damages we have to pay.

5. Ending a listing

We can end your full listing if you break these terms, or if we close the directory. If we end it for any reason other than you breaking these terms, we'll refund the unused part of your subscription.

6. Liability

We'll run the directory with reasonable care, but we don't promise it will always be available. Our total liability to you in any year is limited to what you've paid us in that year. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

7. Changes and law

We'll tell you at least 30 days before changing these terms; the changes apply from your next renewal. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
